Progress

I took my HESI test last week. Basically, it is the admission test for the nursing program at the college. A 75% is required to be considered for the program.
My scores:
ExamMy ScoreClass Average
Math94%80%
Reading Comprehension87%81%
Grammar96%84%
Vocabulary96%76%
Critical Thinking860/1000778/1000

My average was 91.8%. I know a girl that got into the nursing program with a 85% but she also had a A in Anatomy &Physiology 1, while I only have a B. And from the rumors I have heard, the A&P grade is weighted pretty heavily.
All I know is that it will basically be a waiting game until mid-June, when the school sends out the letters.

The is really not that much of a story.
BR is the enitals for my hometown. And as for the "Firefly" part, I am a huge Breaking Benjamin fan. Bonus points to whoever has heard that song. :)

You're packing your bag for that other desert island—the one with no electricity—what 5 books do you take with you?

Okay. This is actually pretty easy.
  • The Bible. I am ashamed to say that I have never read the whole thing.
  • The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. I love this book. :)
  • Seducing the Demon: Writing for My LIfe by Erica Jong. One of my favorite books. All about what inspires us to write, as well as a story about having sex with Martha Stewart's husband. All you could ever want in a book.
  • East of Eden by John Steinbeck. I have never read this book despite it haveing taken residence on my shelve. The likelyhood of me reading it while I still have internet: slim to none.
  • The Visual Analogy Guide to Human Anatomy and Physiology. I might as well learn a little something while I am stuck on a island, away from school.

DollHouse

DollHouse premiered on Friday and It was awesome. I can't wait to see what happens the rest of the season. I always like Eliza Dushku on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. She was my favorite character on the show, probably because she had the least campy dialoge (which is what I hated about Willow).

This is the post in which I just talk about whatever as been on my mind. As you will see, I'm not very deep. lol
  • I keep seeing the trailer for the movie "Shopaholic" on tv and I can not stand the quote she says. "The funny thing about changing your life is that, sometimes, it changes everything." That is the most redundant thing I have every heard. The whole purpose of changing your life is to change everything!
  • I can't wait the drop date in the middle of the semester when half of the class will leave. It is so annoying to hear people bitch and complain about that humanities class. I mean, the teacher doesn't even give homework or tests...we have three essays to write and they are spread out over the course of the semester. But people still find something to complain about. "Oh, it's so boring!" or "He talks funny" or some stupid, arbitrary bullshit that doesn't even matter. Just sit down, shut up and watch the damn movie.
  • I realized that I hate nursing students, especially the ones my age. Most of them walk around with their noses in the air like they believe they are better than the other students at the college. All I know is that when I start the nursing program in the fall (if I get in), I'm not going to be like that.
  • I have an anatomy quiz in an hour and a half and I need to study. Wish me luck. :)

I'm taking a non-western humanities class and today we covered the first part of Indian music.
I never thought it would be physically painful to listen to music...but it can be. Don't get me wrong, it was impressive but I'm just not used to all the changes in rhythm and the high pitch tones.
But I did find this during a YouTube search.

Color me Staedtler

I should be studying African art for my first class this morning but I'm not.
I bought Staedtler Triplus fineliners over the weekend. I'm still trying to figure out if I like them or not. The colors are great and I love the triangle shape but I am freaked that I might press too hard and snap them in half or something.
Anyway, add these to the Moleskines I bought last month and you would not even believe how fucking trendy I feel right now. All I need now to complete the illusion would be a Flickr Pro account and some Starbucks.

I never really got into posting at Livejournal. Maybe it was because I never found a really great layout.
Now my blog looks like a rainbow threw up on it.
I love it.  :)
